Many fierce mariners have braved the high seas through the millennia for God, Gold, and Glory. Combatting foes or combatting torrential waves, no man has conquered that vast frontier which covers 80% of the world’s surface; that is, except one man: The God-man, Christ Jesus- Our King and Savior.
The Holy Mountain of God
Psalm 121 is a Psalm of Ascension. It was customarily sang on pilgrimages to Jerusalem, which is situated on Mount Moriah. It was also sang in the temple service after Solomon built the temple. Why would the Psalmist say that he lifts his eyes to the hills for help if he knows his help comes from the Lord unless the hills are associated with where God is?
From Lies to Glory
As I write this, it is September 2021. The entire world has been thrown into an unrecognizable madness. Every day brings forward the revelation of another lie that was sold to us as indisputable truth. Yet every day, people swallow new lies. And every day, people live by lies that they’ve been told their whole lives. We are living in a time when the shaky foundations of our culture are being exposed.
